It's a beautiful day

In a surprise move, the sun has decided to come out today on Harris. It's not immediately clear what the overall effect of this intervention will be, but at the moment it looks like it might lead to warmth. 

'It's really quite warm,' said local crofter Kenny Mackay. 'I'm not quite sure what to make of it.'

'I'm pure roastin',' added a passing tourist, while local MP Alasdair Allan suggested that we might soon need some rain to break it up. 

'You can't be too careful,' he intoned.

However things play out over the next 24 hours, one thing is for sure: the sun has currently got his hat on in the Western Isles.
